România Discovery Centre

Therapy in România is currently in discussion with local business people about developing one or more mountain sites for the România Discovery Centre. The centre, which will be suitable for those with a disability, will provide a mixture of indoor and outdoor therapy, primarily for children and young people.

Indoors it will include facilities for individual and group Play Therapy as well as teaching rooms for adult trainees in therapeutic issues.

Outdoors it hopes to provide a high ropes course and an assault course, both of which will be designed with therapy in mind. There will be opportunities for caving, rock climbing and abseiling led by experts who understand the therapeutic needs of young people and those with a disability. Also included outdoors will be forest therapy and mountain trekking.

The centre will be used for therapy throughout the summer as well as Spring and Autumn. In the Winter it will be used by the owner for skiing and other winter sports on a commercial basis to subsidise the cost of the therapy during the rest of the year.
